Michael Beck born in 1989, I live and work in Tel Aviv.
Completed My Bachelor of Arts in the Art Department at Bezalel and have just begun my MFA in the art department 2019.
I am a multidisciplinary artist, who is mainly engaged in sculpture, ready-mades, drawing, and photography. In my work, I want to create a strong emotional experience for the viewer and a deep dedication to the space in which I create.
My creative process is the product of events in my personal life. Through visual images, I try
Reveal my point of view on these personal experiences. That's why my main concern is with readymades, as they arrive with their own history, but I do not strictly stick to any specific material. The choice of material is made following a specific experience
that I want to mediate to the viewer.
The work I have handed in is my undergraduate thesis project at the Bezalel Art Department where I recorded my friends singing and playing in their home, and at the end of the process
I created a vinyl record that serves as a sound work that loads the creative space into the home experience and the warmth of the place. The record serves as testimony on the one hand and on the other hand as a print. The material I use moves within the boundaries of local materials within my reach And influenced by my personal environment. For example trees, fabrics and industrial materials.
My Point of origin is also the geographical, emotional space, which changes with me as a result of my nomadic status. From a young age, I was on a constant quest, to find a place to have as home As part of these wanderings I come across many different cultures within the same country, new structures against old ones, and encounters with new significant individuals. So my search is not necessarily just a physical and geographical one but also a search for cultural belonging and in some way, finding my identity
